Provincial police are searching for a gun-packing vehicle after a road-rage incident on Highway 401 early Monday.

Ontario Provincial Police’s Highway Division said in a post on social media site X that the incident happened in the westbound lanes of the 401 between Guelph Line and Hwy 6 South sometime between 1:30 and 1:40 a.m.

Police released images on X of the victim’s vehicle — a red Hyundai — that had bullet holes on the driver’s side. The Hyundai Kona was carrying the driver and a passenger, and police said neither suffered injuries.
The wanted vehicle is described as a dark sedan. No information was immediately available on the occupants.
Any witnesses to the road-rage incident or drivers who were travelling in the area of the 401 around the same time and have dash cameras are asked to contact Cambridge OPP at 519-654-0150 or Crime Stoppers.
The stretch of highway was closed for the investigation but reopened to all traffic around 7 a.m.
