Police have said 24-year-old Evans Jr. is charged with manslaughter, while his father, Robert Busby Evans Sr., 48, and uncle, Barry Evans, 55, are each charged with accessory after the fact to commit an indictable offence.
Rahman was 44, married and had a young daughter when assaulted on 2nd Avenue East, near his restaurant, on Aug. 17, 2023 about 9:20 p.m. He died a week later in a London, Ont., hospital.
Police determined the suspects had fled the country, leading the OPP and Owen Sound Police to work with international partners to coordinate overseas arrests. Police arrested Evans Jr. and his father in Edinburgh, Scotland on July 30, 2024. Barry Evans was arrested by Police Scotland on Oct. 29, 2024 in Dalkeith, Scotland.
