Heated Rivalry stars make splash at Golden Globes

The hottest couple at the Golden Globes wasn’t who you might expect.

The Kamloops, B.C., native and Odessa, Texas natives, respectively, were presenters at Sunday night’s ceremony which honours both TV and film.

Williams told Live from the Red Carpet that his presence there was “crazy. I’m not sure how well I’m handling it. But I’m very grateful to be here. I’m not overwhelmed on the grand scale, but I’m overwhelmed about how many emails I have to get through. They’re filling up.”

As for the actors’ steamy on-screen chemistry, Williams said it was instant but they had to make some adjustments for their characters.

“Connor’s very expressive. Ilya (his Russian hockey player character) is kind of like this Slavic rock and then Shane (Williams’ Montreal player character) is just also built like a dense brick. So you have the Slavic rock and the dense brick.”

STORRIE NERVOUS AS PRESENTER

When they finally took the stage to present best female supporting actress in a TV series to Erin Doherty for Adolescence, Storrie pretended he was scared to be on stage.

“It’s a little nerve-wracking here being at our very first Golden Globes,” said Storrie.

“Just take a deep breath and picture everyone in the audience, you know,” countered Williams.

“Yeah, I don’t really know if that works considering everyone has seen us, you know,” said Storrie, referring to their many almost-nude scenes on Heated Rivalry.

“You think everyone in the audience has seen Heated Rivalry?” said Williams to cheers.

“That’s a maybe,” said Storrie. “But their trainers have and their moms have and their daughters have.”

“Hi moms,” said Williams.

“Hi daughters,” said Storrie.
