Iran today is a state sponsor of global terrorism.

It funds Hamas, Hezbollah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and its offshoot, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force, all identified by the Canadian government as terrorist organizations.

That why you won’t see the pro-Hamas demonstrators who have been denouncing Israel and Canada ever since Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, joining Iranian expats in Canada demonstrating in support of the ongoing protests in Iran against the Khamenei regime.

Khamenei regime threat to our safety

Toppling Iran’s government, a leading promoter of Jew hatred and Holocaust denial, would cut off the head of the snake that funds Hamas and other Islamist terrorist groups.

That would do far more to achieve one of the real-world prerequisites for the creation of an independent Palestinian state than meaningless motions at the United Nations.

Toppling the Khamenei government would also make Canadians safer.

On Jan. 8, 2020, the IRGC shot down Ukraine International Flight 752 over Iran’s capital city of Tehran, killing all 176 passengers including 55 Canadian citizens, 30 permanent residents and a total of 138 with ties to Canada.

Iran linked to ‘coercive practices’

Canada’s foreign interference inquiry identified Iran as a security threat to Canadians, along with China, Russia, India and Pakistan.

The federal government says Iran is a significant perpetrator of foreign interference and transnational repression of Canadian citizens of Iranian origin, in which “Iranian intelligence services act indirectly through agents, contacts and sympathizers, including individuals in Canada associated with organized crime groups.”

It also says Iran engages in “coercive practices” against Canadians, “including monitoring, harassing and intimidating members of community groups or those critical of the regime by direct engagement via social media or cyber intrusion … To neutralize foreign-based criticism and dissent in support of regime preservation.”

The Canadian Security Intelligence Service has identified credible death threats against Canadian citizens, including a failed attempt to assassinate former Canadian justice minister Irwin Cotler, amid reports that hundreds of affiliates of the Khamenei regime reside in Canada.
